HAMMA Award 2015 Granted

Prizes granted in four categories. Founders of Hamburg's Miniature Wonderland win the special award of the Olympics category

Outstanding creative minds are recognised each year with the HAMMA Award, recognising best “Marketing Made in Hamburg”. The city’s creative award was launched five years ago by Hamburger Abendblatt and Marketing Club Hamburg. This year’s award ceremony under the patronage of Hamburg’s Minister for Economic, Transport, and Innovation, Frank Horch, took place at the Emporio Hotel Hamburg on 11 November 2015.TAttended by more than 400 years, the award ceremony is a major event of Hamburg’s marketing scene. Winners were named in four categories.

Social Marketing Honoured

Three awards were granted to outstanding national and international campaigns, which have their origin in the metropolitan region of Hamburg. The sausage manufacturer Rügenwalder Mühle took home the award in the “large business” category in recognition for their vegetarian campaign, realised by the Hamburg advertising agency BrawandRieken beteiligt war. The award in the SME category went to the Hamburg theatre Schmidts TIVOLI for the marketing of Schmidtchen, which opened at Klubhaus St Pauli this year. The social marketing award honour marketing activities by companies and NGOs that integrated economic, social, and environmental aspects and thus create a common benefit. In this category, LemonAid Beverages received the distinction for its “Drinking Helps campaign.

Promoting the Hamburg Olympics

In the limelight of Hamburg’s Olympic bid, a special Olympics award was launched to honour campaign that promoted Hamburg’s nomination as official German candidate in a unique and outstanding way. The special prize was received by Frederik Braun, Gerrit Braun and Stephan Hertz. The founders of the Hamburg Miniature Wonderland won the award with their Olympic Alster Fire. With a ring of lanterns, torches and candles around the inner Alster lake and a large fireworks, they had turned the enthusiasm of the Hamburg locals into a visible message that went round the world on 20 February 2015.

The entries were judged by an eight-member panel of experts, renowned opinion leaders, and successful entrepreneurs who are all known representatives of the marketing expertise of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg and its metro region.
