A total of 15 finalists were hoping for the three startup awards granted at the Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) by a 17-member jury on Thursday, 4 June 2015. In the category “Start”, the Hamburg Innovation Award was won by the X-spectrum GmbH, Its innovative X-ray camera allows scientists to achieve highest quality research results in a fraction of the time previously required.
In the category “idea”, an augmented reality system for sports training, which is particularly being used by golfers, has been named winner. In the growth category, Aqua free Membrane Technology Gmb, a leading manufacturer of hollow fiber membrane filters for safe and germ-free water, took home the prize.
The Hamburg Innovation Awards were awarded at the HHIS attended by 400 participants. The gala was presented by Geraldine de Bastion. The Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) was supported by IFB as premium partner. In the category “growth”, Hamburg’s Minister of Economy, Transport, and Innovation, handed over the awards. In his speech, he said: “Hamburg has infinitely more potential for innovation. A landmark event such as the HHIS provides valuable input.” Ralf Sommer, CEO of the Hamburg Investment and Development Bank IFB, held the laudatory address for the category “idea”. The award in the category “start” was presented by Heinz Lüers, CEO of the Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude, also a premium partner of HHIS. All prices are endowed with 3,000 euro.
