Gruner + Jahr is planning a new magazine called “B-Eat” for the premium market segment, a press release said Tuesday (May 8, 2018). The high-quality food and gastronomy magazine will hit the market in September and is set to focus on Germany’s top restaurants and eateries worldwide.
Insider tips and portraits
The magazine will not only review new openings, but also rediscover classic restaurants and publish insiders’ tips. The editorial staff will also look behind the scenes and profile movers and shakers in the world of food and gastronomy: Chefs, winegrowers, bar tenders, organic farmers and food activists. The magazine will report on doers and stars, as well as undiscovered talents and achievers in the gourmet world, showing what motivates them and how they to work.
B-Eat to launch in September
The magazine will also feature culinary travel destinations and topical trends in eating as well as innovations and facts of interest from the world of food culture. Commenting on the new magazine, Jan Spielhagen, Editor-in-Chief, said: “Restaurants are the new cathedrals and their chefs the new superstars. We have now produced a magazine full of enthusiasm and genuine characters on the basis of our combined food competencies.
