Gamecity:Hamburg adds three new jobs

New management team and two more jobs to boost industry in Hamburg

The gamecity:Hamburg initiative is creating new jobs as Project Manager and two more jobs in Communications and Event Mangagement. The jobs will strengthen the existing network and lend more support to the games industry in Hamburg.

New strategies and offers planned

The initiative has raised the transparency of the Hamburg Games ecosystem since 2003 and linked up key figures with each other. Relevant interfaces have been maintained and new issues identified. New strategies can be developed and expanded offers created, which had only been possible on a small scale hitherto, thanks to the increased personnel. Existing events, such as the cross-industry Gamecity Treff, will be supplemented and expanded. Dennis Schoubye, Project Manager gamecity:Hamburg, said: “The creation of three new positions for gamecity:Hamburg is a clear signal from the city that it wants to be at the top of the national and international location contest in over the next years”.

4,000 employees in games industry

Hamburg has around 200 games companies making it a strong player in the games industry, said Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media. Around 134,000 people are employed in the cultural and creative industries across the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. More than 4,000 people are employed in the games industry. The Gamecity meeting on July 17, 2019 is organised by gamecity:Hamburg and will likely be one of the annual highlights. Delegates will have many opportunities to meet the new team in person.
