Around 2,000 figures in the fintech and banking sector are meeting in Hamburg from Monday (October 10-14, 2016) this week to focus on future trends and concepts in the financial sector. The Fintech Week is being held in Germany for the first time and the event in Hamburg is hosted by finletter and betahaus. Earlier this year, the third Fintech Week was held in London.
Bankathon with figo & 12min.me Code Rouge
Clas Beese, founder of finletter, said: “Hamburg has many things that are basic for a lively fintech scene. They include a strong presence of established banks and aspiring start-ups with keen interest in digital financial services.” The event in Hamburg is the first of its kind in Germany and the city is gradually becoming a hotspot in the sector.
Visitors can attend a total of 20 events during Fintech Week including a bankathon organised by the figo start-up or the comdirect financial bar camp, pitch events like 12min.me or networking events like beta breakfasts and fintech lunches. The betahaus and Hamburg branch of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management are the venues. They will also host the so-called Fuckup Night as well as a Fintech-Konferenz.
Supported by comdirect
The changing field of work in the financial sector will be highlighted in talks, workshops and discussions and a jobs fair will be held on Career Day. Anyone interested can present their company and highlight vacancies. Apart from betahaus Hamburg, comdirect, Bankpower and Point Consulting have also confirmed their support of Fintech Week.
