On May 25th, the finalists will present their business models in five-minute “Business-Idea Speed-Dating” sessions to the jury. The top three will pitch in front of a live audience that evening. nextMedia.Hamburg, the regional initiative for the media and digital industries, will present the award to the winning entrant.
Data Analytics & Online Marketing
Elke Fleing, from the deutsche-startups news site, Sabela Garcia from next media accelerator, Leif-Birger Hundt from KPMG auditors, Prof. Dr. Christoph Ihl from the StartupDock at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Christian Nagel from Earlybird investors and Jens Nolden of the entrepreneurial initiative, Technology Return, will select the winning entry.
“This year, we were able to choose very promising finalists from an interesting and wide-ranging line-up of young companies in the digital economy,” said Nolden, adding, “The companies that I prefer this year are in data analytics, online marketing, enabling technologies and content creation sectors. The founders’ ideas were examined for innovation, implementation and marketing.”
Bettertalk.to, Spherie and Craftspace in online voting
May-Lena Signus, head of nextMedia.StartHub said: “The award offers very young start-ups an opportunity to present their ideas and get valuable feedback from the jury. We are particularly pleased about the broad range of newly-founded companies in Hamburg. That shows that the digitalisation in many branches and sectors offers opportunities for new business models.” The competitors include a digital online kiosk, a security app, a cross-channel marketing-tool and an automated fashion advisor.
Three other start-ups that won a “Webfuture” wild card in an online vote are vying for the tenth place in the final. The three competitors are Bettertalk.to, Spherie and Craftspace and will be pitted against each other from May 11-18, 2016.
