The Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, a stage agency supporting film makers in Northern Germany, will fund 24 projects with a total of 5.074,000 euro, and thus secure 100 days of film-making in Hamburg and neighbouring Schleswig-Holstein.
Funding To Cover Broad Spectrum
In the category of cinema production, eleven films will be supported. The animation film “Luis und die Freunde aus dem All” by the Hamburg-based company Ulysses Filmproduktion will receive the highest support, i.e. 650,000 euro. Also receiving state funds will be the comedy “Wer sich ewig bindet“ starring Jan Josef Liefers and Christina Große along with the films “So was von da“ and “Es war einmal Indianerland“.
Metropolitan Region Benefits
Together with the NDR and nordmedia, the funding scheme “Nordlichter” (Northern Lights) was founded to support regional talents. Thus,young director Eicke Bettinga (Tamtam Film, Hamburg) will be granted 300,000 euro for “Romeo“. In total, 75,000 euro were granted to new film scripts. Also included in the funding are the categories post production and sales/distribution. Special funds of 87,034 euro were granted to TV productions in Schleswig-Holstein” , including four projects in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region.
