Viable and promising business concepts from all sectors can now be submitted to the Darboven IDEE-Förderpreis that is directed a female entrepreneurs only. “The creativity and motivation of women is a key driver of our economy. I want to encourage women entrepreneurs to be involved, too, and launch their very own start-up”, said Albert Darboven, owner of the Hamburg coffee company JJDarboven.
Since 1997, the Prize has been awarded every two years. Eligible are only young women who have been self-employed for less than three years. The innovation of the business idea, an elaborate business concept and the potential of new jobs are key factors in the evaluation. The founder and the jury is eagerly anticipating business concepts in the social sector and from founders with a migration background.
Online Voting And Jury Decide On Winners
In 2013, Global Flow GmbH, a consulting firm for waste and recyclables management in Reutlingen, was name winners. Its two founders Nadine Antic and Seda Erkus are thus members of this year’s jury. The other jury members are Prof. Dr. Rolf Eggert, Dr. Willi Hausmann, Dr. Kelek, Norbert Leopoldseder, and Dr. Anita Plantikow. Dr. Henning Voscherau, former First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, is chairman of the award. In addition, the prize will be granted under the patronage of Mrs. Prof. Dr. Dagmar Schipanski.
The competition is divided into two parts. After a pre-selection of participants, the competitors will be chosen by online voting. The first five ideas finally get the chance for a personal introduction to the jury. In November, the award ceremony will follow in Hamburg. The first prize is endowed with 50,000 euro, the second prize with 10,000 euro, the third prize with 5,000 euro. The closing date for all entries is 31 July 2015.
