There will hardly be any time to dwell too long on a subject when participating at “Twelve Minutes Me” or short : The series of events limits the time to talk on a business subject of one’s own choice to exactly twelve minutes. Virtual reality, artificial intelligence, robotics, social media content and advertising law: the topics of the lecture series could hardly be more diverse. Fast facts

Every second Thursday, the organisers – including Oliver Rößling and Gregor Hoppe – will be hosting an open evening at Absolute Software to listen to interesting presentations and talks, to discuss, and to socialise. A total of five different event titles specify the thematic orientation of the talks. In the IgniteTalk, a link between technology-related and economic issues will be sought, while the Life Science held at the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) will focus on medical and health issues and their reflection in the digital world. The Expat Talks resembles the IgniteTalks, but will be held in English, also the language for questions and remarks. Last but not least, the Startup Bolognese invites young founders to enjoy a plate of Spaghetti on Tuesdays in the company of founders.

Startup-Slam with Crowning of Winners

Networking with Added Value

According to the organisers, the idea behind is not the mere exchange of information. On the contrary: due to the short time available to speakers, presentations have to be compact, focussing rather on essentials than discussing the topic in details. To socialise and to spend the evening in nice and interesting company is in the foreground. Thus, drinks, snacks and a private DJ are quintessentials. But why twelve minutes. There is no particular reason for it, say the organisers. “But take a look at the stars in the EU’s flag, the months of the year, the hours on the clock – they are rely on the beauty on the figure twelve”, explains Oliver Rößling.
