Fly direct to Serbia and Iceland from Hamburg Airport

Air Serbia operating thrice weekly flight to Belgrade - Play flying three times a week to Reykjavík

Air Serbia is now operating thrice weekly flights from Hamburg Airport to Belgrade after a three-year break, a press release said Monday (May 15, 2023). Meanwhile, Iceland's Play airline is flying to Reykjavík three times a week. Tickets for Air Serbia flights cost from EUR 115 can be purchased online and in travel agencies.

Hamburg-Belgrade link offers more flexibility

"Passengers are even more flexible with the new direct flight to Belgrade. That benefits both travellers to the city and people who have friends and relatives in Serbia," said Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport. Air Serbia is operating an Airbus A319 aircraft on the route. Flights depart Belgrade every Monday and Friday at 5:30 pm while the flight from Hamburg to the Belgrade departs at 8 pm. On Mondays, Air Serbia departs Belgrade at 6:25 am while flights from Hamburg to Belgrade depart at 9:25 am.

Flying to North America via Iceland

"Play complements Hamburg's route network with a direct flight to Reykjavík. The popular Nordic island state can be reached even more conveniently. The capital's airport, Keflavík, is a hub to North America," Behrens pointed out. Passengers arriving in Reykjavík can transfer onto flights for New York, Boston, Washington DC, Baltimore and Toronto in Canada. Play is operating Airbus Neo aircraft on the new Hamburg to Reykjavík route which matches Hamburg Airport's strategy. "We promote the use of such particularly low-noise and low-emission aircraft types as part of our climate protection strategy, " he added.
