Apply now for Bridging Aid IV - Corona Protective Shield in place

14 January 2022
Scheme open to companies with a 30 per cent drop in sales

Companies hit by the pandemic can now apply for Bridging Aid IV for the period January to March 2022 via the Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank (IFB Hamburg). Around EUR 2.5 billion in bridging aid has been issued since the crisis broke out, according to Ralf Sommer, CEO of IFB.

Eligibility

Companies that have suffered a drop in sales of at least 30 per cent as a result of the pandemic are eligible to apply for Bridging Aid IV which lends even more support to solo self-employed workers. An additional New Start Assistance 2022 lasting until March 31, 2022 will be available in the coming days. The latest bridging round follows the predecessor Bridging Aid III Plus, which ended on December 31, 2021.

"Corona Protective Shield" still in place

Andreas Dressel, Senator for Finance, stressed: “The pandemic still has us firmly in its grip with the continuing heavy burdens on the economy. Therefore, it is all the more important that we do not let up in our support for the affected businesses and now seamlessly follow up with Bridging Aid IV and Restart Aid 2022." The many aid schemes that come under the protective shield will remain in place this year, he added.
