Over EUR 500,000 in funds for HPA's digital port twin
The German Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport has earmarked EUR 520,000 for the Hamburg Port Authority’s planning tool "HafenplanZen" based on a digital port twin. The aim is to develop a prototype for digital images to raise efficiency, safety and to improve planning. The funds are to be issued as part of the Innovative Port Technologies (IHATEC II) scheme.
50 per cent funding rate
"HafenplanZen" is a continuation of HPA's augmented and virtual reality projects and involves the Hamburg Port Consulting, the University of Hamburg with Bremenports, Port of Kiel and Niedersachsen Ports as associated partners. The project is worth around EUR 1.1 million, half of which will be allocated to HPA, and is expected to last two and a half years.
IHATEC promoting innovative port technologies
The IHATEC II scheme backs the development of innovative port technologies, helps establish them on the market and boosts competitiveness. The funding scheme also focuses on technologies for climate and environmental protection, improving digital infrastructure, IT systems and the associated security of ports.
