Latest Media Lift Incubator seeks content and technology ideas

13 April 2023
Deadline for applications on May 21, 2023 - nextMedia.Hamburg promoting local media and digital economy

Applications for nextMedia.Hamburg’s Media Lift Incubator (Batch 5) are being accepted until the deadline of May 21, 2023. The local initiative targets early phase start-ups and founders in the media and digital industry seeking to develop a prototype. All innovative business ideas at the interface of content and technology are welcome.

Funding, coaching, network access and visibility

A jury will decide on participants after a pre-pitch in late May or early June. Start-ups' ideas will be fine-tuned on admission to the Media Lift Incubator Remote and in Hamburg from June to October. Participants can expect grants of up EUR 15,000 per team, an individual coaching scheme, access to a network of mentors and visibility for their project in media reports.

Three phases to graduation pitch

The participants undergo three work phases and take part in a final graduation pitch in October. After team building and outlining the start-up idea, the second phase focuses on customer acquisition, testing and feedback. The business model is then elaborated and the team prepares to seek capital among other tasks. The prototypes remain the property of the idea providers. On completing the Media Lift Incubator, the project can be funded and developed with stakeholders in Hamburg's start-up ecosystem or transferred back to the company and without giving up shares.
