The Pflegix care portal took over the Hamburg-based HelloCare start-up last Tuesday (August 1, 2017), according to a press release by HelloCare. Based in Witten in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia, Pflegix offers products, information and services on the care platform. HelloCare launched in 2014 as one of the first care start-ups on the market and helps find qualified and reliable carers for elderly people and families. Both firms will operate as Pflegix in future.

HelloCare has operated mainly in Hamburg so far and sought a merger to gain greater clout on the market. Katrin Pietschmann, Managing Director of HelloCare, said: “We are delighted to join forces with Pflegix and hope that our customers and helpers will find a new home there.”
Boosting market presence in Hamburg region
Pflegix launched last autumn in the Entrepreneurship Centre Witten at the University of Witten-Hedrick. Commenting on the take-over, Tim Kahrmann, Manager of Pflegix, said: “The merger with HelloCare will help us to strengthen our market presence especially in the Hamburg region and to expand our client and helper’s base.” So far, Pflegix has put 6,500 helpers in contact with potential employers in over 30 German cities, the company said. Pflegix recent launched a division for companies in the health care sector also.
