Ebola: Hamburg heals patient

Senegalese WHO employee leaves University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) after successful treatment.

A WHO researcher who had been exposed to the deadly Ebola virus, left the Hamburg University Medical Center after a treatment of a novel vaccine. The experimental vaccine for Ebola had never been tried on humans before. Three weeks later, the scientist of the World Health Organisation showed no longer signs of Ebola. The Senegalese employee of WHO had thus succeeded in overcoming the disease and was released accordingly to return home.
The day the man was discharged the WHO updated its Ebola death toll to at least 3,439 out of 7,492 possible and confirmed cases.
