A Fast Trend
The idea for the assessment of medical apps by an interdisciplinary jury and to honour the best application with an award is a brainchild of Life Science Nord working group “Medical Apps”. Particularly in the medical field, the digital trend is evolving rapidly. “In the market, apps are increasingly launched. Especially in the medical field, quality is a high priority”, says Matthias Steffen, head of the Life Science Nord working group “Medical Apps”.
Developers and seller of medical apps are invited to submit their application by 13 November 2015. Especially apps that facilitate the everyday medicine for clinics, healthcare institutions, physicians, patients, caregivers or family members are in demand. Apps that are not yet fully realised may apply for the award with a presentation. The apps will be judged by an interdisciplinary jury (www.medical-app-award.de/jury) in regard to target group oriented presentation of information, ease of use and protection of data. Furthermore, the jury will observe the winning apps over the next three years to gain insight of how to individual apps perform in the market.
Digital Health in Focus
“We are pleased that we can integrate the Medical App Award into the “Networked Health’ convention”, says Dr Hinrich Habeck, managing director of Life Science Nord GmbH. “This allows us to once again strengthen the importance of digitisation in the health sector, and its importance for the future development of the sector.”
