Vegan, eco-friendly, packaging-free and socially consious. These are the reasons why 24-year-old Sandra Neumeier to call her shop “Twelve Monkeys” – Vegan Things. On 15-16 May, the shop opening will be celebrated with a street festival at St. Pauli’s Gebrüder Wolf square.
Eco and fair trade
Covering some 70 square metres, the shop will offer a selection of pure plant foods, pet food, household products, clothing, and literature. Particular emphasis will be placed on green and fair trade produce. To reduce waste , some produce will be offered free of packaging.
A key objective of the shop’s policy is to assure the customer’s good conscience. Sandra Neumeier hopes to contribute to a more peaceful economy by setting up a best-practice at St. Pauli’s Hopfenstraße 15b. She will thus also participated in the “Monday of Donations”, with ten per cent of each sale over 100 euro will be donated to charities defending animal and human rights or to NGOs involved in environmental protection.
The street festival will start on 15 May at 10 a.m., with the official ending scheduled for 8 p.m.
