With the Reeperbahn Festival September 19-22, Hamburg will again be at the focus for music. Wide-ranging diversity is assured from around 900 programme events, of which some 600 are concerts. Venues are spread out from the Reeperbahn to the Elbphilharmonie (Elbe Philharmonic Hall). The Reeperbahn Festival is simultaneously one of the most important business platforms for companies and organizations in the musical sector and the digital creative economy. Up to 5,000 representatives from the sector and the media are expected to attend. France is the partner country for the 2018 Reeperbahn Festival.
“For four days in September, Hamburg will be at the centre of the world of popular music. Our city has the greatest density of clubs in Germany, and St Pauli, with its unique venues around the Reeperbahn, is the perfect location for the festival. Everyone will be making their contribution to the musical diversity of the city: Major concert venues, such as the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle, along with a multitude of small clubs, which will be offering the people of Hamburg a varied and attractive programme,” Hamburg Mayor Peter Tschentscher says.
The Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch is being held again this year under the auspices of the Reeperbahn Festival. Hamburg Startups is for the sixth time inviting young and innovative companies from across Europe to put forward their ideas and business models. On September 19, there will be five startups on the stage striving to sell their ideas to the jury and a knowledgeable public. The prizes this year are a media budget in the newspaper WELT to the amount of EUR 150,000 and a trip to the SXSW festival.
NEXT Conference 2018: “Digital Fix – Fix Digital”
