The 6th Hamburg Cruise Days gets underway from September 8-10, 2017 with a record eleven cruise ships and hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world expected in Hamburg. Last year, new records were broken with 171 ship arrivals and over 710,000 passengers amid the rising popularity of cruise shipping.
Cruise Gate Hamburg is expecting around 200 ships with approximately 800,000 passengers to call during the 2017 season. Michael Otremba, Managing Director of Hamburg Marketing GmbH, noted: “With the Hamburg Cruise Days, we bring ships and people together in an emotionally deeply engaging event. Add the Elbphilharmonie, the new cultural centre in the port, to the equation, and pictures of the blue illuminated port will go around the world, highlighting the city’s inspiring contrasts.”
