Organizers of Internorga 2016 pleased with fair

Around 95,000 professional visitors from Germany and abroad attend fair. Young chef from Hamburg wins Next Chef Award

Around 1,300 exhibitors from 25 countries presented their latest products, trends and complete solutions for the entire out-of-house market at this year’s Internorga attended by some 95,000 professional visitors from Germany and abroad. Bernd Aufderheide, Chairman of the Management Board of Hamburg Messe und Congress, said: “The Internorga 2016 has really convinced exhibitors and visitors with its great diversity and top quality.”

Only international fair in sector

A survey by an independent market research institute found that 90 per cent of participants rated this year’s Internorga as “very good” to “good”. Some 90 per cent would also recommend the fair. Around 85 per cent of visitors were decision-makers in the sector. International visitors accounted for a constant 7 per cent prompting the German trade fair association (AUMA) to rate Internorga as Germany’s only international professional fair for the hotel and catering industry.

Plans for Internorga 2017

Jonas Straube, 25, from Hamburg’s coast by east & coast enoteca restaurant won the Next Chef Award – a new highlight. The event attracted over 1,300 onlookers, said Johann Lafer, celebrity chef and one of the initiators of the competition.

In reference to Internorga 2017, Aufderheide noted: “We are already planning the 91st Internorga.” Next year’s fair will run from March 17-21 and will be a day shorter to account for the changing conditions at professional fairs, said Hamburg Messe und Congress.
