The banks of the Elbe river boasts many box seats. Overlooking the bustling Port of Hamburg and the passing ships, they are a prime location meetings and celebrations. From museum ships to rustic boathouses, from towering towers to a magnificent mansion with private park, the choice of venues is huge. To exemplify the wide range of offers, Hamburg News portrays two very different event locations: N17 and Elblounge.
Up to 2,000 guests
With its prime location and the magnificent Elbe view, the event location N17 – Neumühlen 17 – is an exclusive address for meetings, celebrations, and presentations for up to 2,000 guests. Fine materials, high ceilings and huge glass fronts characterise its modern design. A total of eight different rooms are available that can be booked individually or combined. One of the options includes the former Michelin star restaurant “Tafelhaus” operated by celebrity chef Christian Rach. The L-shaped corner room with a walk-in gallery is fully glazed on two sides and suited for receptions with up to 200 people. Comfortable remnants of the former restaurant is the large, fully equipped kitchen. In fine weather, the terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy a drink or a meal.
Former Summer Residence
A few kilometres further downstream, the Elb Lounge on posh Elbchaussee is another prime location. Located in the neoclassical Villa Kaufmann, its name is a typical Hamburg understatement. This prestigious and spacious property was built in 1876 as a summer residence by the Hamburg businessman and alderman Carl Ferdinand Carstens. It impresses with its imposing architecture and the adjacent 1.7-hectare park adorned with a private lake and beautiful old trees. In 2001, the house was completely renovated and expanded. In contrast to the historic details like old floorboards, fireplaces, staircases and marble floors, the meeting rooms were given a modern design, with partly wood-paneled walls, high-end technology, and elegant look. For business events, confidential meetings, workshops or meeting, various conference and club rooms or lounges with fireplace and balcony can be booked on two floors.
Kitchen for Cooking Classes
For meetings with up to 400 participants, the Elb Lounge offers various MICE packages. Set meals are possible for up to 150 guest. The preferred caterer of the house is the “Veranstaltungsmanufaktur Hamburg”. The kitchen on the ground floor is also available for cooking classes with up to 60 participants in two groups.
Due to its idyllic location, the mansion is also frequently booked for weddings. The house has two suites. The separate guest house, run as a 3-star hotel, can be reached on foot by a walk through the park. Further 30 rooms are available in the immediate vicinity.
