Latin America Day 2015 in Hamburg

Bolivian president guest of honour in Hamburg. Trade experts to discuss at the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski

Also in Latin America, China plays an increasingly important role. The impact of this development on the region’s economy and trade will be discussed at the 66th Latin American Day in Hamburg. Organiser of the event taking place at the Hotel Atlantik Kempinski in Hamburg on 5 and 6 November is “Latin America e.V.”: https: // in co-operation with the “Hamburg Chamber of Commerce”: Patron of Hamburg’s traditional Latin America Day is the First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Olaf Scholz.

Representatives from Business and Bolitics

The Latin American Day is the annual conference of the Hamburg’s registered association Latin American Club. Every second year, the event takes place in Hamburg. The aim of the conference is to promote bilateral German-Latin American economic relations. Latin American and German representatives from business and politic will be describing current developments in the region and point out business opportunities for German companies.

Hamburg Trade Experts

At the two-day conference, logistics and trade experts, including representatives from Hamburg and the metropolitan region, will be talking at several panels. Johannes Willers of “Kuehne + Nagel”: http: //, responsible for KN’s regional trade in Asia, Latin America and Mexico will be discussing with other industry representatives trade relations between Latin America and China. Klaus-Dieter Rosenbach, board member for logistics systems at the Hamburg-based logistics specialist “Jungheinrich”: http: // .will be joining a discussion on the “Market Presence of Chinese Products”.

A highlight of the conference will be the traditional gala dinner. Each year, Hamburg’s Latin American Club invites a Latin American president as guest of honour. This year, the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, will attend the event.

Called “Lateinamerika Verein e.V.” (LAV)in German, the country association was founded in 1916 by merchants from Hamburg and Bremen. Today, the LAV is the networking and information platform for German companies with business interests in Latin America. The association supports companies from all sectors to establish and expand their business activities in Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition, it promotes the economic, political and social relations between Germany and the countries in the region.
