The Binnenalster Filmfest gets underway from September 6-9, 2018 in the run-up to Filmfest Hamburg. The screenings start with “Dirty Dancing” and end with “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and will be projected onto a floating screen on Jungfernstieg. The first 30 guests who arrive by bike on September 7, 2018 have a chance to win tickets for this year’s Filmfest Hamburg and a racing bike raffled by 2Entertain Germany.
Co-operation as a driving force
“The Binnenalster Filmfest is a great cultural event and a special experience in the heart of Hamburg. This is a good stage for presenting cycling as an important component of modern mobility in Hamburg,” said Andreas Rieckhof, State Councillor in the Ministry of Economics, Transport and Innovation.
“Cycling is an important building block for raising the quality of life for the people of Hamburg. The co-operation with the Binnenalster Filmfest shows how positively cycling and culture can complement each other and provide impetus for the development of the city,” remarked Michael Otremba, Managing Director of Hamburg Marketing GmbH.
Prizes for cyclists
Films are being screened on September 7, 2018 in co-operation with the Ministry of Economics, Transport and Innovation and Hamburg Marketing GmbH. To raise awareness of urban mobility, culture and quality of life, visitors are encouraged to cycle to the film festival. A free bike stand will provide safe parking space and a multi-touchtable will give visitors information about infrastructure measures for cycling in Hamburg.
