Hanseboot joins boating campaign

“Start Boating” targets boating newcomers. Opening event in metropolitan region

The annual Hamburg International Boat Show has joined the nationwide “Start Boating” campaign to stir up enthusiasm for boating and yachting. Heiko Zimmermann, Project Manager hanseboot, said: “We want to show how amazing and fascinating boating is and that it can be done without too much work or higher costs.” This year, fans can go on a free, trial boating trip from the private ancora Marina in the Baltic Sea during the hanseboot ancora boat show from May 27-29, 2016.

Boating events across Germany

More than 2 million people in Germany go boating regularly, according to trade associations’ estimates. Around 8 million people would like to go sailing or motor yachting and this is the target group of the “Start Boating” campaign. The aim is to encourage yachts people and fans to spend more time aboard boats and to eventually purchase or rent a boat. Eight regional boating events across Germany will give people such opportunities.

Registration possible

The hanseboot ancora boat show is held in the ancora Marina in Neustadt, Holstein. Registrations are now being accepted on the campaign’s web page for trips aboard recreational craft, cruisers or sailboats. In June, trial runs can also be undertaken in Marktbreit on the Danube river and in Berlin. More opportunities will be available in August and September during the Maritime Week in Bremen and Interboot in Friedrichshafen.
