Hanseatic city of Lübeck launches new festival

Foodtrucks, local bands and guided museum tours await visitors of HanseKulturFestival

The city of Lübeck is holding the first HanseKulturFestival on May 20-22, 2016. Visitors can expect an extensive, cultural programme in Lübeck’s Old Town as part of the event organised by Lübeck and Travemünde Marketing GmbH. Storytelling and concerts in the historic Seefahrerviertel (Seamen’s District) will be just one of many festival highlights.

Programme in Europäischen Hansemuseum

Museums, studios and galleries in the Seefahrerviertel will open their doors to visitors while the Europäischen Hansemuseum will offer guided tours, theatres scenes and an evening light installation. Many events in the Hanse museum will deal with the city’s economic history. One academic lecture will focus, for instance, on economic aspects of the medieval Hanse network. Another speaker will highlight the typical merchant career.

Asparagus and Jakobusmahl

Various food trucks on Koberg in Lübeck’s Old Town will offer local products. Restaurants and cafés and culinary delights will offer delicious food. Bands and musicians from Lübeck and other Hanseatic cities will perform on stage and guests can get an earful of the local music talent.
