Hamburg's "oldtimer" fair to feature lots of classic motor cars

1930's Cabriolet and super 1980's sports cars to go on show in early October

The first Hamburg Motor Classics gets underway in Hamburg Messe’s exhibition halls from October 13-15, 2017. The show is the latest meeting point for classic car owners and enthusiasts. Hamburg Motor Classics targets fans and admirers as well as prospective buyers in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region and from other German regions and abroad.

High-quality classic cars such as the Porsche 911 or 1930’s Cabrios, 1980’s sports cars, modern classic cars, classic motorbikes, parts and accessories can be marvelled at and purchased there. Surveyors, and financial and insurance specialists will also be on hand to provide valuable advice to visitors. Literature, art, retro toys and accessories are also among the exhibits.

Legendary VW Golf GTI

The first generation of the legendary VW Golf GTI will also go on show. “Today, these cars cost around EUR 19,000,” said Sebastian Plümers, owner of Spurtreu Classics in Herford. Spurtreu will present the more powerful BMW 635 CSi, which costs just EUR 1,000 more, in Hamburg. Those in search of a bargain classic car should hurry as the price of a 635 CSi will probably rise from EUR 20,000 at present to EUR 30,000 in just a few years, according to Plümers.

Keynotes to give insight

Yet many fans of classic cars simply want to enjoy the car’s special driving behaviour. And the Hamburg Motor Classics has a wide-ranging offer for both experts and beginners. Keynotes will highlight issues such as valuation, purchase, insurance, transport and maintenance.
