Companies and institutions all over Hamburg will open their doors from November 22-25, 2018 to present the sixth “add art” to the public. Around 19 companies and institutions are exhibiting art works by young artists from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW). The 2017 event, attracted around 1,700 visitors to the art exhibitions in various companies.

Ideas for collaborations between business and art

Among other things, “add art” wants to make connections with artists an inspiring, tangible experience. To this end, insights into art are provided at places not normally open to the public. Visitors can obtain information about motivation, backgrounds, collections and the individual companies’ support concepts. This year’s participating companies include ADAC Hansa, Alphabeta, BDO, Buse Heberer Fromm, Chatham Partners, Golla Capital Advisors, Grand Elysée Hamburg, Chamber of Commerce, iims Internationaler Medien Service, JLL Jones Lang LaSalle, K.D. Feddersen Holding, Lebuhn & Puchta, Lohmann Konzept, Markert Gruppe, PPI, Schipper Company, TUI Cruises, vangard and Vattenfall.

New prize for young artists

Promoting young artists is central to the event: Ten of the 19 participating companies have selected a total of 18 artists from HAW to exhibit works of art on their premises. The companies support the artists through purchases or royalties. Visitors can also purchase the exhibits. This year, the “add art Award for Young Artists” will be presented for the first time. A jury of experts select a work distinguished by its special artistic quality in the run-up to the event. The award ceremony will be part of the panel discussion on November 20, 2018 at the Chamber of Commerce’s InnovationsCampus. The “add art” is organised and directed by the newskontor communications agency backed by the Chamber of Commerce, HAW Hamburg and Schipper Company GmbH.
