Hamburg to Participate at the World's Largest Creative Fair

Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft to bring local companies to SXSW. 70,000 trade visitors expected at Austin's trade fair in March 2016

“The Hanseatic city is playing an increasingly important role in the world’s creative industries. So, it is only logical that we help local creative companies to present themselves internationally and to open up new business opportunities by networking”, says Horst-Michael Pelikah, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture. Hamburg will thus continue to showcase its assets at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Texas.

The Hamburg Ministry of Culture and the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft offer to fund companies wanting to travel to Texas to attend SXSW. The world’s largest creative fair annually attracts more than 70,000 trade visitors from film, music, and digital/interactive. Hamburg participates at the global lead fair to promote the city as hotspot of creative industries.

Funding and Support

Hamburg-based companies and freelance working in the creative industries and wanting to participate at the fair are invited to submit their application for funding. The Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and Hamburg Ministry of Culture will be covering travel expenses up to 2,000 euro. For application and further details, please check out the website
