Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG, noted: “The ‘Hannover Messe’ is the world’s only platform where the components and systems of mechanical and plant engineering and electrical engineering merge with the digital technologies of software and IT companies. This year’s agenda has many exciting topics such as 5G, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, security and many more on the digitalisation of industry. We are delighted by the strong presence of exhibitors from the Hanse city.”
Focus on science and technology transfer in Hamburg
The future of a location lies in research and innovation. Hamburg has excellent infrastructure with international key players in industry and science. This offers scientists, founders, fledgling and established companies ideal opportunities for making contacts, networking and transfer. This year, Science City in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld in Hanover will pitch to an expert audience for the first time. Dr. Rolf Strittmatter, Managing Director of Hamburg Invest, commented: “The ‘Hannover Messe’ is the most important marketplace for industry worldwide. It is not only about selling products, but about international co-operation in the development of future technologies. That’s why it’s important to be present in Hanover again this year.”
