The Hamburg Motor Classics exhibition gets underway Friday (October 19-20) and and is set to transform the Hamburg Messe into a Mecca for oldie lovers. Highlights include the special “Historical Motorsport” show, an entry-level forum and the Dreaming Dare Cup, for which some 60 vintage cars will set off on a 150-kilometre journey across Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein.
Historical Motorsport show
Visitors can expect touring cars from the 1970s including Alfa Romeo, BMW, Ford, Opel, Mercedes and other well-known manufacturers in four halls at Hamburg Messe. Three historic racing cars from the Automuseum Prototyp such as the Petermax Müller world record car (built in 1949), with which four racing drivers drove more than 90 hours over a high-speed track near Paris in 1950, thus securing 22 national and eight world records, are also part of the exhibition. The Dream Dare Cup begins on October 20 at 9:30 am on the forecourt of the exhibition grounds.
Automuseum prototype as ambassador
Prominent motor sportsmen as well as dealers and specialists in historic automobile rarities are expected as well. Visitors arriving with their own classic car can park on a vintage car parking lot on the exhibition grounds and become part of the exhibition. The event is sponsored by ADAC Hansa e. V. while the Automuseum Prototyp is supporting the event as an ambassador.
