The second edition of the Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) will get underway on May 30, 2016. The platform for new technologies and innovations brings together creative minds, founders and shapers of the future from commerce, politics and science. This year’s venue is the new ZAL TechCenter in Hamburg-Finkenwerder.
Trends in New Technology Wave
The Future Candy Expo will kickstart the day’s events held under the patronage of Olaf Scholz, Mayor of Hamburg, and Katharina Fegebank, State Minister of Science and Research. The guests also include Frank Horch, Senator for Economics and the official ambassador of HHIS. Young entrepreneurs and IT experts will present their start-ups in relation to virtual reality, e-health, smart tech, 3D printing, FinTech, new mobility and the latest “New Technology Wave” trends.
Presentation of Hamburg Innovation Awards
Experts will discuss in HHIS Master Classes how start-ups can become mentors through various co-operation models, how new company structures can lead to greater knowledge transfer and what leadership means today. The climax of the evening will be the presentation of the Hamburg Innovation Awards honouring new, sustainable business ideas and innovative firms in the categories “ideas”, “start” and “growth”.
Startup Dock & Future Candy
Fegebank will present the first, north German “Founder Prize Sustainability” (Gründerpreis Nachhaltigkeit) at HHIS. Then later, guests will have an opportunity to interact at the after show party. The event is being organised by the Hamburg-based innovation consultancy, Future Candy, the Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank, Hamburg Innovation, a technology transfer company and the Startup Dock for founders at Hamburg’s universities and colleges.
