The Hamburg Boat Show opened its doors Wednesday until Sunday (October 23-27, 2019) to water sports enthusiasts, boat owners and newcomers at the Hamburg Exhibition Centre. Around 300 exhibitors and over 200 boats are now on show with emphasis on the latest trends and developments in water sports as well as hands-on offers. The supporting programme features at least 250 events. Visitors can get up-close views of a race with a 15-HP boat up using virtual reality headsets and a motion platform.
Expertise and excitement
“The Hamburg Boat Show is the most important of its kind in north Germany and it leaves nothing to be desired this year either with an expanded range and expertise,” said Torsten Conradi, President of the German Boat and Shipbuilder Association (DBSV), which organises the fair. This year’s show is the second since its predecessor, HanseBoot, ended in 2017. Around 27,000 visitors attended last year’s Hamburg Boat Show, which also featured 250 supporting events including several keynote speeches. This year, stand up paddling boards (SUP) can be tried out in a 200-square metre pool in the fun sports section. Thrill seekers can try out a dive container with around 30,000 litres of water.
