Four new themes at Gastro Vision

Focus on new trends - digitalisation going ahead in hotel and catering sector

The Gastro Vision focusing on the hotel, restaurant and catering sector began Friday (March 17-21, 2017) in Hamburg’s Empire Riverside Hotel. Around 150 exhibitors are presenting their latest products to decision-makers in the sector. The emphasis this year is on four new themes: Digital Corner, the Kitchen Club, Out of the Box and the Creative Lab.

Digital Corner and Kitchen Club

The Digital Corner theme will see firms and start-ups present their products and services for pushing ahead with digitalisation in the hotel and catering trade in co-operation with HOGA Innovation Alliance. The Kitchen Club is the meeting point for all those interested in kitchens, equipment, services and new products. Famous star chefs like Heiko Antoniewicz, Ludger Helbig, Philipp Kohlweg, Stefan Marquard, Dirk Müller and Heiko Schulz will cook with visitors and guests such as the former soccer professional Uli Borowka.

Out of the Box and Creative Lab

Gastronomy takes centre stage in the Out of the Box multi-media room. Consultants and developers of the concept including Jean-Georges Ploner and Tim Plasse will look towards the future with keynote speakers such as Lorenzo Bizzi, Frank Lottermann, Alan Odgen and Christina Wieser. Graphic design students from the Alsterdamm School of Visual Arts will present their projects in the Kreativlabor and offer interesting, innovative solutions for the hotel trade. The concept covers branding and packaging as well as product presentations for fictitious hotel brands which is likely to give visitors more ideas for generating turnover and real added value.
