Elbphilharmonie's "concert cinema" enters second round

Transmissions of Elbphilharmonie Summer and the start of the 2018/19 season.

Six live concerts in the Elbphilharmonie’s Grand Hall will be screened on a large outdoor LED screen called the “Cube” provided by SAP between August 27 and September 2, 2018. The NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra’s opening night and the start of the HamburgMusik season will be broadcast live for the grand finale of the outdoor concerts. The first event proved hugely popular last year.

Classical music

Music fans can look forward to a recording of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester’s concert featuring the Star Wars suite by John Williams and the Planets by Gustav Holst on August 28. All broadcasts begin at 8 pm except for the concert on Opening Night which starts at 7 pm. Admission is free and all kinds of tasty delicacies will be on sale in the forecourt from 5 pm. Cushions can be rented to sit on the steps and watch the concert outside the Elbphilharmonie. The public viewing will be accompanied by live presentations, videos, artist talks and concert introductions.
