"Elbphilharmonie Concert Cinema" off to a good start

Concert to be broadcast on LED wall of Cube

The Elbphilharmonie Concert Cinema launched Monday (August 27, 2018) on the forecourt with the live broadcast of the first concert. Around 1,000 music lovers watched the stream of the concert with free admission on a balmy summer evening. Live broadcasts from the Grand Hall will be held nightly until September 2, 2018 on the Cube’s LED wall. The programme includes the last three evenings of the Elbphilharmonie Summer and the start of the 2018/19 season for the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.

The concerts will be performed by Stefano Bollani and the Napoli Trip, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra with Gautier Capuçon and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra with Heinz Karl Gruber. The Opening Night of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra will be broadcast at the finale. All concert broadcasts will begin at 8 pm except for the Opening Night of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra on September 1, 2018 (7 pm),

“The Cube”

The Elbhilharmonie Concert Cinema is sponsored by SAP, which has again set up its “Cube” on the forecourt. The “Cube” complements the excellent sound and delivers crystal clear, high-resolution images from the Grand Hall. The projection housing is also open to visitors during the day and shows the Elbphilharmonie’s wide range of events on several screens.
