"Invest in Games" theme of Hamburg Games Conference 2023

Conference to highlight latest developments (March 1-2, 2023)

The first live Games Conference since the pandemic gets underway from March 1-2, 2023 in the Altonaer Museum with emphasis on the commercial potential of the games market, challenges for studios seeking investors, funding and publishers and whether the wave of takeovers is set to continue. 

“Call for Speakers” 

The organisers Super Crowd Entertainment, Gamecity Hamburg and Graef Rechtsanwälte are accepting English-language submissions for the "Call for Speakers" until the deadline of January 20, 2023.  The first announced speakers include Michael Schade, CEO of Rockfish Games, who will outline how Everspace 2 funded itself successfully. Christof Wegmannm, CTO of Exit Games/Photon Engine, will discuss factors pivotal to success and lessons learned from developing the hit "Stumble Guys" knock-out game. Linda Rendel, Production Director of FemDevMeetup, will talk about real leadership in game productions. A  business ticket for EUR 199 gives delegates access to both the conference and the MeetToMatch digital matchmaking system. SMEs and start-ups can purchase tickets for EUR 99 while students pay EUR 25 to attend the conference. Early Bird tickets are available until January 12, 2023 on www.gamesconference.com.

Platform for exchanging skills and expertise

"The Hamburg Games Conference 2023 is a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences in terms of the big picture and very concrete best practices for the diverse companies and start-ups in Hamburg's games industry and worldwide," said Dennis Schoubye, Head of Gamecity Hamburg.

Financing digital games successfully

Two daily conferences on "Investing in Games" will shed light on the perspectives of game studios and investors. Speakers will describe their experiences and show successful means of financing and marketing digital games. Presentations on developer and start-up topics will highlight opportunities and challenges in the games market. Studios and service providers will present their innovations and services in the exhibition space.
