Hamburg's Startup Unit and the German-Israeli Chamber of Industry and Commerce are now inviting people to attend this year’s "Hamburg on Tour" which is being staged as a digital roadshow from December 1 to 2, 2020. Emphasis is on  how innovation improves our cities and the environment. Registrations for the livestream are now being accepted.

Focus on maritime logistics, aviation, mobility and hydrogen

New, groundbreaking solutions for the future of both cities are to be developed under the motto "Hamburg meets Tel Aviv". Some of the most promising start-ups from Tel Aviv and leaders from both cities will discuss the challenges facing commerce and society in future. Partners of the event include the Israel Smart Cities Institute and several other forward-looking institutions including the Digital Logistics Hub and the Center of Applied Aeronautical Research (ZAL). The conference will be opened by Michael Westhagemann, Hamburg's Senator for Economics, Michal Michaeli, the Director of International Economic Development at Tel Aviv Global and Dr. Rolf Strittmatter, Managing Director of Hamburg Invest. The agenda on December 1 will focus on maritime logistics and aviation while emphasis will be on hydrogen and mobility the following day.

Start-up hotspot Tel Aviv meets Hamburg’s vibrant start-up scene

Israel has about 6,500 start-ups and a population of 8.8 million people making for the world’s highest density of start-ups per capita, according to the German-Israeli Chamber of Industry and Commerce. For many years now, Israel has gone to great efforts on municipal and national level to stabilize and accelerate its transformation into a science and innovation nation. Thus, the start-up hotspot Tel Aviv is a great match for Hamburg's start-up scene.
