Young professionals meet firms in metropolitan region in new event series

Jobseekers and companies can now register for the next “Careers Open Evening” in Hamburg’s Museum of Work on May 4, 2023. Organised by Hamburg Invest’s Talent Services team, the bimonthly event introduces jobseekers to employees in companies across the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. This debut event opens up career prospects and for a change of careers. Later, dedicated meet-ups will be held for PhD candidates and post-docs as well as English-speaking jobseekers.

Highlighting career prospects

Each event starts with a short keynote speech. Then, participants can outline success stories and discuss challenges and opportunities of certain jobs. Tips for the first career steps will also be given. Hamburg Invest and the Hamburg Research Academy have scheduled dedicated events later in 2023.

Event for English-speaking jobseekers

A “Careers Open Evening” for PhD students, post-docs and W1 or junior professors will be held on July 13, 2023. A meet-up for English-speaking jobseekers with little or no knowledge of German will be held on October 19, 2023. A free event on December 14, 2023 is open to all kinds of jobseekers. Companies pay a nominal participation fee of EUR 50 for drinks and finger food. Places will be given on a first come, first served basis.
