Unicorn reaches small-cap DAX three months after initial listing

The About You holding is to be listed in the SDAX via the Fast Entry rule from September 20, 2021 less than three months after its initial listing, according to a press release Monday (September 6, 2021) by Hamburg's first unicorn.

Stringent Fast Entry criteria

After the quarterly DAX index review on September 3, 2021, Deutsche Börse announced the company's addition to the SDAX consisting of 70 smaller businesses, so-called small caps, which follow the companies included in DAX® and MDAX in terms of their free float market capitalisation.

Tarek Müller, jointfounder and member of the management board, commented: “Around three months after our trading debut, the inclusion in renowned SDAX is evidence of the attractiveness of our shares and trust in our business model. We are delighted about the higher visibility, which the inclusion into the index gives to our shares. For us, this is a motivation and obligation at the same time – we would like to build on this milestone to further digitise the offline shopping experience of our customers and become the leading global online fashion platform.”

Founded in 2014 by Benjamin Otto and Tarek Müller as a fashion start-up of the Hamburg-based Otto Group, About You's product range consists of over 400,000 items by 2,000 brands. The company employs more than 1,000 employees from over 65 nations. Sales of EUR 1.17 billion were earned in the 2020/21 fiscal year. The Otto Group is the largest shareholder.
