Visitors to Hamburg Airport can now pay for their parking space per SMS or app thanks to the travipay parking system, a press release said Monday (June 18, 2018). Travipay is produced by sunhill technologies which is owned by VW Financial Services. Passengers no longer have to have cash and save time.
Mobiles ease parking
Travipay is being tested initially on the priority lanes outside the departure level of the Terminals 1 and 2, which are ideal for short stays or for bringing passengers and saying goodbye. The app is available for free and as an extended premium or business version on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app reminds the user to pick up their car before the allocated time slot ends. Customers can also renew a parking ticket per travipay for up to 60 minutes maximum.
Gate deliveries and passenger boarding bridges
Earlier in June, Hamburg Airport became the first German airport to launch a test phase of the new Gate Delivery service until mid July. Passengers can now order snacks and drinks online at www.hamburg-airport.de/shop to be delivered to their departure gate at no extra cost. Meanwhile, the fifth construction phase at apron 1 is also continuing at Hamburg Airport and without interrupting flight operations. In late May, the airport began assembling passenger boarding bridges which will be in use before the summer holidays.
