Condor operated Sunday (April 29, 2018) its first flight from Hamburg Airport to Zakynthos. The airline will fly to the Greek island once a week on Sundays from Hamburg this summer. The north German airline Yourways has begun operating in Hamburg and will schedule a twice-daily flight from Hamburg to Sylt from June 1, 2018.
Zakynthos – brand new destination
Zakynthos is a brand new destination for Hamburg Airport. Dr. Jörgen Kearsley, Head of Aviation Marketing at Hamburg Airport, said: “Sun, beaches and sea – Zakynthos is an ideal summer destination for our passengers. Condor is offering a direct flight to the Greek island, which could not have been reached directly before and expands our offer to the region. I am certain that Zakynthos will prove a popular destination.” The island is Condor’s fifteenth destination from Hamburg Airport where it’s the fifth largest airline.
New connection from Hamburg to Sylt
From June, Sylt will be a just 50-minute flight from Hamburg. Yourways will operate brand new airplanes called Cessna Grand Caravans with ten seats on the route at a cost of EUR 180 per passenger. Benjamin Götze, co-founder of Yourways, said: “Our Hamburg-Sylt route connects two of the most beautiful destinations in the north and offers a connection to the rest of the world.”
Yourways is based in Geestland near Cuxhaven and charters business jets under the Privateways label. In late 2017, the airline began operating flights to the north and East Frisian Island to boost tourism there. Sylt Air also operates thrice-daily flights from Hamburg to the popular island.
