Blue Air is to offer a flight from Hamburg to Liverpool from March 26th, 2017, Hamburg Airport announced Thursday (October 6th, 2016). The airline will operate a Boeing 737 four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on the Liverpool route.
Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport, said: “The route is attractive for both business travellers and tourists and will certainly meet with acceptance among our passengers. Liverpool is an entirely new destination, which we have not offered on our flight route before.”
Important trade city
Liverpool is a key economic centre in England and has many banks, financial institutes and big companies. Tourism is an important factor in the port city, the old part of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2008, Liverpool was “European Capital of Culture”. The city is also home to FC Everton und FC Liverpool. Hamburg and Liverpool also have “The Beatles” in common. The foursome hails from Liverpool and launched their career with performances in Hamburg.
Blue Air will operate a flight to Cluj-Napoca in Romania from summer 2017. The airline began flying from Hamburg to Bucharest in March 2016.
