Emirates Airlines presented an Emirates Boeing 777 in a new, sporting look featuring HSV soccer players Michael Gregoritsch, Gotoku Sakai, Filip Kostic, Bobby Wood and Nicolai Müller at Hamburg Airport Tuesday. The new HSV-Boeing 777-300ER landed in Hamburg at 2 pm where the five players welcomed its arrival. The players later posed in front of the aircraft, which shows them in action on either side.
The HSV airplane will be operated on connections across Emirates global network of 100 destinations including Shanghai, Osaka, Tokyo and Brisbane. The special HSV paintwork will remain on the aircraft until early August 2017.
Emirates also presented a 1:200 scale model of the HSV jet, which will go on sale in the HSV fan shop. Fans who click onto Emirates Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts Tuesday have a chance to win one of the limited models.
Emirates and HSV have been partners since the 2006/2007 season and the airline is the club’s main shirt sponsor. The airline’s “Fly Emirates” slogan is visible in the Volkspark stadium. Emirates has offered a flight to Hamburg, a key European market, since 2006 and operates a Boeing 777-300ER on two direct daily flights to Dubai.
Emirates sponsor some of the world’s high-profile football teams and events. Emirates aircraft Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 have already sported likenesses of players and logos of Arsenal London, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, HSV, Benfica Lisbon und AC Milan.
