United Airlines resumed Thursday (April 26, 2018) it’s seasonal intercontinental service from Hamburg Airport to New York-Newark. The airline flies a Boeing 757-200 on the daily route. United Airlines has operated the long-haul route from Hamburg to New York-Newark since June 10, 2005. Since the launch of the connection, 1.1 million passengers have travelled on a total of 7,687 flights.
Sightseeing and business
New York is a tremendously popular destination and attracts millions of tourists for sightseeing and shopping every year. A direct connection to the largest city in the U.S. is an attractive way for business travellers to save time. The flight from Hamburg to New York is being operated seasonally until October 4, 2018. Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport, said: “Our successful partnership with United Airlines goes back almost 13 years. Hamburg and the metropolitan region are a strong market and offer great potential for transatlantic connections.”
Connections to North, South and Central America
In New York, passengers from Hamburg have a choice of approximately 300 connecting services to North, South and Central America. Around 39 per cent of all Hamburg passengers on the United Airlines flight transfer to connecting flights for other destinations in New York-Newark. Passengers, whose final destination is New York, have ideal connections to the city. Manhattan is only 23 kilometres from Newark Liberty International Airport and is only a 25-minute train journey.
