Air Malta is resuming flights from Hamburg Airport to Malta from October 31, 2018, and will operate a weekly flight on Wednesdays. Connections will be increased to two weekly flights in summer 2019. The airline had suspended a previous direct flight from Hamburg to Malta in 2016.
The island of Malta lies in the Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and North Africa. Malta’s climate makes it a popular holiday and cultural destination for tourists in both summer and winter. The archipelago has several bays for bathing, water sports and snorkelling and a diverse culture. The capital city of Valletta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also this year’s European Capital of Culture
Dr. Jörgen Kearsley, Head of Aviation Marketing at Hamburg Airport, commented: “We are delighted that Air Malta will soon be back at Hamburg Airport. Thanks to the commitment of Air Malta, there is now also a direct connection from Hamburg to the beautiful Mediterranean island in winter – an attractive new holiday opportunity for our passengers.“
