Denmark's Sun Air to offer daily flights to Friedrichshafen from January

Danish airline Sun Air will offer a non-stop, twice daily flight to Friedrichshafen from Hamburg Airport from January 14, 2019, a press release said Wednesday (October 10, 2018). The 80-minute flight gives business travellers an efficient connection between Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Sun Air is a franchise of British Airways.

Dr. Jörgen Kearsley, Head of Aviation Marketing at Hamburg Airport, remarked: “We are delighted that Sun Air is back at Hamburg Airport – and with an attractive offer for domestic travel. Sun Air is a reliable partner and is taking over this connection, which is popular among business travellers and vacationers alike.” The airline will operate Dornier 328 jet aircraft with 32 seats on the route.

Partner of British Airways

Sun Air was founded in 1978 in Billund, Denmark as a regional airline. It has 230 employees and owns 25 aircraft, 16 of which are Dornier 328 jets. Sun Air has been a franchise of British Airways (BA) since August 1996. All flights are operated under BA flight numbers and the aircraft sport the colours of British Airways.
