The leading online career network Xing SE has increased its total turnover over the same period in 2017 by 28 per cent to just under EUR 111 million euros. The number of members has also risen by 1 million in the first half of 2018, a press release said Monday (August 6, 2018).
Changing world of work
The network had around 14.4 million members in German-speaking countries by late June 2018. Xing had 15.3 million users across all platforms. In addition to the career network, the Hamburg-based company also has a platform for business event solutions. Xing also broke the 1 million paying members mark in the second quarter of 2018. Thomas Vollmoeller, CEO of Xing, said: “The world of work is changing. We offer companies the products to help them win the ‘war for talents’ and we help our members to seize the opportunities in the jungle of change that will help them lead the working life that fulfils them.
Focus on DSGVO and New Work
Xing sometimes reacts to the specific needs of German-speaking customers for data security. The “Data Protection at XING” page was developed in consultation with the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. New Work remains a top priority for the company. ‘Xing now offers a B2B solution for the management of freelancers, which was developed by the Hamburg-based start-up asap. Xing acquired the company in the second quarter of 2018. The company, asap.industries, took part in the 5th Next Media Accelerator (NMA) in July 2017. The NMA is a Hamburg-based funding programme for media start-ups from all over the world.
