On request in the neighbouring Heidekreis, the economic development corporation in the rural district of Harburg (WLH) is developing and marketing the industrial park “Horstfeld”. The 18 hectares large plot has already been purchased by the WLH for almost 7.2 million euro. “In Bispingen, a strong tourism destination, the local industries and skilled trades are increasingly contracted for works in Harburg, and even north of the Elbe river,”, says Bispingen’s mayor Sabine Schlüter.
Excellent Location Right at the A7 Motorway
According to Wilfried Seyer, CEO of WHL, Bispingen will be the lastet gem of the chain of premium industrial and commercial pearls lining the A7 motorway. The latest addition, Horstfeld, will be located next to the indoor ski hall Snow Dome and a karting and bowling centre operated by Ralf Schumacher. Initially, Horstfeld was planned as an outlet centre. But legal problems caused these dreams to end. Now, the 6,300 large city visited by one million guests per year entrusted WLH with the development of Horstfeld for commercial and industrial businesses.
Diversity, Not A Single Large Player
In Bispingen, entrepreneurs interested to invest, relocate, or to expand have meanwhile formed a work group to accompany and push ahead the development of Horstfeld until October 2015, with first areas available by spring 2016. Large-scale logistics providers, however, are not welcomed. Seyer: “There is no intention to sell the plot of land as one piece” However, smaller logistics companies are quite possible candidates. Sabine Schlüter has only one limitation. “The companies investing in Bispingen must do so in accordance with tourism.”
