A delegation of Mexican corporate executives is due to arrive in Hamburg in mid October as part of an initiative by Empresarios México Alemanes AC. (EMMAC). This new network is based on a Manager Training Programme by the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and is part of Germany’s foreign economic policy. According to the motto “Fit for Partnership”, the programme prepares executives from Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe and North Africa for business relations and economic co-operation with German companies.
Exploring synergies for sectors
EMAAC is backed by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Instituto Nacional del Emprendedor (INADEM) in Mexico. EMAAC aims to create synergies for companies in the same sector, for instance, automobile, aviation, aerospace, food, services and the jewellery industries. This year is the “Dual Year Mexico-Germany” and is the backdrop for presentations, forming collaborations, attending trade fairs as well as activities in various German cities. The aim is to boost bilateral co-operation.
Hamburg Week “All in the same Boat”
EMMAC and other collaborating partners are organising the “Hamburg – All in the same Boat” week from October 10th-14th, offering the Mexican delegation political and commercial appointments. A bilateral, economic conference on October 12th, 2016 will outline investment opportunities in Hamburg and Mexico, offer panel discussions on internationalisation, financing as well as legal and logistical framework conditions.
The Hamburg Business Development Corporation (HWF) is one of EMACC’s strategic co-operating partners. The Hamburg-based one-stop agency for investments is advising Mexican firms, who wish to locate to Hamburg, accompanying the delegation and presenting the city as a suitable location for business in future in close co-operation with EMACC.
Promoting co-operation between start-ups
The focus will also be on collaborations between German and Mexican start-ups, B2B matchmaking and a speed-funding organised by the Angels Den crowd-funding platform. The event ends with a Sauza Tequila tasting in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt. The delegation can also attend the Latin America Day 2016 from October 13th-14th held by the Latin American association (LAV).
