The Udo Jürgens musical, “Ich war noch niemals in New York” (I was never in New York), is returning to Hamburg as part of an homage to the popular singer in Stage Theater on January 19th, 2016. Next year, the audience can enjoy hits such as “Aber bitte mit Sahne”, “Mit 66 Jahren”, “Vielen Dank für die Blumen” and “Ich war noch niemals in New York” live until summer.

Uschi Neuss, Manager of Stage Entertainment Germany, said: “Being able to show this special production again in Hamburg ten years after its premiere is very moving.” The musical, “Ich war noch niemals in New York“, is straight out of real life and linked to the nicest memories of the great Udo Jürgens, she added.
The musical was first performed in Stage Theater in 2007. Since then, over 4 million people have also seen the production in Vienna, Zurich, and in Tokyo, according to Stage Entertainment. It is the most successful musical ever developed in Germany.
Career or love
„Ich war noch niemals in New York“ tells the story of the ambitious TV presenter Lisa Wartburg, who has hardly any time for her own mother. When she runs away with her lover, Lisa has no choice but to follow her mother. During the tumultuous journey, Lisa eventually realizes that there is more to life than work and success and she is forced to choose between a career or love.
